1/4: UPDATE on #Venezuela— Marco Rubio (@marcorubio) June 19, 2019
It isn’t accurate to say @jguaido has lost “momentum”.
What is accurate is that most Venezuelans are understandably more focused on day to day survival than on politics right now. Hunger & disease are hard to ignore.
2/4: Meanwhile the #MaduroRegime is desperately searching for foreign currency. They are increasingly struggling to maintain sufficient reserves & pay bills. Expect them to target some of the $4 billion in remittances as a way to move currency into formal channels.— Marco Rubio (@marcorubio) June 19, 2019
3/4: We are approaching the 3 month mark of Russia deploying personnel to #Venezuela. Expect #Putin to swap out many of the current personnel with new ones soon. Will be interesting to see which nations allow them overflight access to do this.— Marco Rubio (@marcorubio) June 19, 2019
4/4: Reports of misappropriation of funds by 2 people associated with the opposition is evidence of the difference between #Maduro & @jguaido— Marco Rubio (@marcorubio) June 19, 2019
Unlike Maduro he didn’t excuse it or deny it,he immediately asked #Colombia to investigate it & hold anyone responsible accountable.
